It’s been several weeks now since we realized that God was opening the door for us to help Ethnos360 on a project in Papua New Guinea.
For the last couple months we have had the joy of watching God’s provision unfold in answer to our and your prayers:
- Through some new connections God provided a team – the McEntarffer family. They have their own construction business and lots of experience, and are ready to go!
- Through your generosity in donations God provided funds for travel, housing and food for the team!
- With some flexibility and creativity God provided a set of dates that worked well for all involved.
- God even opened the door for the teammates’ wives to join!
But there was a concerning roadblock: Amy has a job which had scheduled an important work trip to the UK close to the PNG project dates. We kept on alert but became a little worried when they rescheduled the trip over top of the first week of the project. We started praying regularly asking God to smooth out the process and we waited to see what God would do – wondering whether the team should go without her, and whether she should join late.
Time passed without answers, and we were getting a bit nervous as we waited for Amy’s work to authorize booking travel. After the Projects 4 Missions board commissioned the project we bought a ticket for Chester to go to Papua New Guinea – for most of the month of May. And more time passed, making us nervous for answers even as some of the flight options dried up. What should we do? – God had provided but Amy didn’t have an open door to join. Sometimes all we can do is look to God and wait upon Him.
After much prayer and waiting, God provided the answer earlier this week. Amy’s work trip was suddenly cancelled, and the door was now open for her to join the team in May. After a little scrambling Chester and Amy now both have tickets to Papua New Guinea! We’re praising God for making a way!
There are many, many more details which we continue to pray about – David and Robin Watters’ dad’s ailing health, The McEntarffer family getting paid for recent work, our family while we are away, safety in travel, good weather for travel and working, materials and tools to be ready when we arrive, and the list goes on and on.
But we are confident in the character of our God, that regardless of the answers He will be faithful to walk with us through it all.
We are so very thankful for you as well. We highly value your partnership as we continue to seek God’s hand in all the little details. Your prayer and gifts make a huge difference.
