Partner with us in Papua New Guinea

Dear Friends,
A few weeks ago, we received a note from a missionary in Papua New Guinea:

“Not sure what your plans are for 2025 but we have a project.. We had a team all lined up to come in March or April but we just learned that they are not able to come. Maybe it’s too late or last minute, I’m not sure but I thought I would just reach out to you guys to see if there would be any possibility of you guys coming to help with this project.”

We asked for more details and they sent us a sketch of the floorplan and description of the work. We learned that this project was remodeling the space underneath a house into a boys dorm for Interface – a college level church planting course for students pursuing missionary service. The next Interface program starts in June and the housing is definitely needed.

We prayed over the matter and discussed it with some trusted advisors and our governing board. With their blessing, we are proceeding and asking God to allow us to take a small team to Papua New Guinea from late April to early May.

We are asking God to open doors in a variety of ways for this trip.

First, We are praying that God would provide a few adults with some construction experience to join the team. We anticipate the project taking a couple weeks “on the ground”. Because travel takes 40 hours minimum to travel from Nebraska to the location near Madang in Papua New Guinea, we are praying for a small team of two to four people (in addition to Chester and Amy) who have enough flexibility to take up to three weeks away in April-May.

In addition to the people, we are asking God to provide the financial resources. Plane tickets alone are 90% of the cost. We work hard to be good stewards of the resources God has provided and it stretches our faith to ask God to provide quickly for this project.

We are praying for David and Robin, the missionaries who asked us to consider this project. Currently they are in Michigan caring for David’s Dad (with ailing health) but they intend to join us onsite to help us find tools and supplies for the project, and to work together.

We are praying for the timing of the trip – it is important to complete the bunkhouse before the Interface program which begins in late May. And we’d like to return by Mother’s Day.

Lastly, we are asking God to provide prayer partners for each day of the trip.

Please consider supporting the team for this project, but first please pray with us for God to open these doors and allow us to serve David and Robin in PNG to prepare a boys dorm for the Interface Program.

In Christ,

Chester and Amy Davis
